An HCRealms user named algrim has apparently got his hands on a good selection of The Brave & The Bold (above is the pic he posted on the boards). Realms users have combined the partial figure list posted by algrim with what we have already know to be in the set and have come up with the pretty reliable spoiler list pasted here:
The key thing about this list - and the thing that made me wrongly assume that it was a late April Fool's joke - is that figures 004-008, 011-015 and 026-030 are all generics or individuals based on generics. That's 15 figures out of five sculpts, and Wizkids have already shown us two other pairs of figures that share a sculpt: Robin/Damian and Inertia/Kid Zoom.
I can't begin to imagine what they were thinking my doing this in a set that is also taking up all the SR slots with duo figures (which, in my experience are not a popular format) and also have eight slots taken up by four alter-ego characters.
For my part, I had already decided to go the singles route with this set. Looking at that list, it's going to be a darn cheap set for me.

Yeah lots of Batman. Lots of Robins, fact lots of duplicates. Should I be impressed by the cost cutting cleverness of Generics being recycled as different characters (hang on isn't that what LEs are meant to be for?) or anoyed with what feels like a castrated figure list.
ReplyDeleteRagdoll and Max Mercury are must haves for me but that's 2 figurs out of a set of a game I collect for the obscure characters that wil never get their own actions figures.
I see lots of swaps coming.
PS Loved the new Doctor Who and the Redhead that I will marry. Not sure if Joe Public will warm to so many ideas packed into an episode but for me the 5 mins on the roof top sold it to me. and the Redhead ;)
Feel free to disagree but a make it only 6 figures that are 100% new and haven't featured in some form or other in the past.

what an absolute cop out! Tho im assuming that the dupes will have diff dials still doesnt make up for the fact that this set is more de valued in a way. Bring on next marvel set tho there game mechanics and cost saving ideas prob will continue! Groan! Elliott
ReplyDeleteI'm have to say that looking at it I'm more and more of the opinion that this was a major rush job on reduced staff just to fill a gap in the release schedule whilst they ramp everything else up to speed. (The fact that the set is 5 figures short of a normal full set definately points to that, REV type stuff isn't too much of an issue but yeah 17 figures out of 7 sculpts is a really pushing it and the lack lustre efforst on some of the duos are also a bit off.)
